The Geothermal Risk Mitigation Facility (GRMF), hosted by the African Union Commission (AUC), is assessing the market demand and viability for launching

an 8th Application Round for geothermal power projects to continue supporting geothermal energy development in Eastern Africa.

Your input is helping us to understand the current needs and challenges of geothermal developers and ensuring that GRMF continues to play a vital role in advancing clean energy solutions in East Africa.

GRMF provides funding for Drilling Programmes & Surface Studies in 12 East African countries (Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia).

 

This survey aims to gather insights on:

 

  • The potential for new geothermal power projects in Eastern Africa.
  • The current development and future progress of geothermal energy.
  • The market’s perspective on GRMF in supporting developers and mitigating risks.

 

Your feedback will directly influence the decision to launch another GRMF Application Round and improve the facility's ability to support your projects.
